Their base may *demand* it but I'm not sure that, without a clear and understandable pretext, they are going to be willing to actually do it. Remember how Darrell Issa declared the Obama WH to be the most corrupt in history when he was preparing to start "investigating" it but all of the investigations eventually fizzled and they never once tried to impeach him? I can't imagine Kevin McCarthy (if he somehow manages to evade potential criminal charges himself) actually figuring out how to actually do it. The most they will do IMHO is launch a few politically motivated investigations into Hunter Biden's laptop but nothing will come of it.
