His base accepts the most lame bullshit without batting an eye.

That's why it's so easy for them to accuse a Dem of wrongdoing even when they've done nothing wrong.

I just had an argument with a guy who insisted Trump wasn't a crook because after 6 years he's still a free man.

He then told me that Hillary was a crook.

I asked him how she could be a crook because after 8 years (30 years if you count Whitewater) she's still a free woman.

He told me to perform a sexual act on myself.

How dare you turn his argument against him!

Of course if Trump does get convicted of crimes, then this guy will say he was a victim of vindictive liberals and the deep state.

The party of "personal responsibility" turns out to really be the party of "infinite excuses". Apparently it was personal responsibility for other people, not them.

They never live up to what they claim to be. They march out a slogan and that's all it takes. They never govern, they just let Dems do all the heavy lifting and then take incessant potshots against us. They're content being the anti-Dem and that's all their supporters want. To own us, to belittle us, to run us out of town.

The sad fact is, there's a lot of Americans that are tiny human beings.

meaningless slogans, the bumper-sticker party. The flag-waving patriotic party, the family values party, the fiscal responsibility party, the 'Support our Troops' party - they are all empty catchphrases that don't truly reflect who or what they are. Sadly, people have fallen for their BS for decades.

after all the dust-up over Trumpistanianism has settled, TFG, his establishment-threatening mob of loyal MAGAT voters, his army of would-be-nihilistic ex-military/dishonorably discharged losers and the media which created the myth of them will all be exposed for the mammal-exhaust-air-inflated bag of wind they have actually been all along. Voters will flock in droves to ignore or swear they never knew and certainly weren't fooled but simply misunderstood all that lawyer talk and it was others who made this mess anyway. The rats leaving the ship in fear while the working people salvage and/or recycle the remains, working instead of whining, dreams turned to dust, steadily toiling through their years of tears. Don't count on their votes, friends.

Most will blame the victims, Democrats. That is, after all, their go-to boogeyman, Democrats driving Caddy-lacks on welfare wages. The stupid and gullible louts whose appetite for that drivel never abates. Curse them at the restaurant to the end of the universe for their shitty service and WAY too high prices. (What? for a plate of cold meatloaf? what is this "meat" anyway? and I hate meatloaf!)

What I'm saying is that the next round of excuses is already sent to the printers, and we lick our wounds or our chops at the expense of prudently, diligently watching out for these horrible bastards to try it all again. They aren't ever really beaten down so as to never re-arise, but they'll always be wrong and thereby identifiable by that trait.

The biggest competition right now is for campaign ad dollars. This results in both-sides-are-equal, and little coverage of issues.

Jan - Oct -- "ABC’s World News Tonight, CBS Evening News and NBC Nightly News have devoted just 32 minutes to issues coverage, according to Andrew Tyndall."

There are more campaign dollars to chase now, so the drive to portray a close horse race just intensifies.
