The company declined to provide a reason for the closure at the time of the announcement earlier this week, but UFC president Dana White said Tuesday that he just wanted to give the media "a night off."
"I know Mark Zuckerberg rented out the whole event," Dern said. "I know he'll be there, but I don't know if it's literally him, his wife or if he'll have friends -- some type of party. But from someone who wanted a main event with a crowd, [it's now] going to be very, very private."
White took to Twitter later Wednesday and denied that Zuckerberg has rented out the Apex facility.

(182,788 posts)Im guessing Zuckerberg is having some friends there but I cant imagine it being near full.
When Tyson lost to Douglas in Tokyo it started at like 9AM. Pay per view. Also the Japanese audience was very quiet. Not just in the custom but it wasnt packed with people whod had at least a few drinks lets say. I read about this and had no idea. It was a full quiet arena.
doublethink
(6,823 posts)we were bar hopping downtown in San Diego and we caught the fight at one of the clubs. Was so loud in the club never got to notice the actual crowd in Tokyo being so quiet. That's wild. So were those days, no more clubbing it at all now, things change.

Sympthsical
(9,073 posts)For company parties. I've been, it's quite fun. The whole stadium with a kid carnival on the field, food stalls in the concourse where everything's free, and upper level lounge with free alcohol and ping pong tables for beer pong.
It's a total blast to go. I haven't been since Covid and not sure if they still do it.
But I did wonder how much that sort of thing cost.
