Arizona AG debate gets heated after Dem candidate calls out Trump-backed Republican's past boasts of

voter fraud

At Wednesday night's debate for Arizona attorney general, the proceedings were derailed when Republican candidate Abraham Hamadeh — a Trump-supporting election conspiracy theorist who has vowed to prosecute the "crimes" in the widely discredited documentary "2,000 Mules" — was put on the spot about whether he believed the 2020 election was truly stolen.

"'I won't forget about the fraud of 2020 and hold them accountable. Your day of reckoning is coming when I take office in January of 2023,'" said debate moderator Ted Simons, reading off from a previous quote of Hamadeh. "Who will be held accountable and what are you talking about here?"

-snip-

At this point, Hamadeh's Democratic opponent, Kris Mayes, spoke up.

"It's unbelievable," said Mayes. "Obviously, my opponent is anti-democratic and he just told you that he does not believe that we had a fair and safe election, which we did in 2020. You know, my opponent knows a few things about voter fraud since he admitted to casting his own mother's ballot in the 2000s."

I think we should say the Republicans are anti-democracy, not anti-democratic. Anti-democratic can be misconstrued as being against the Democratic Party.

Between this attorney general race and the governor's race featuring another full-blown looney, are either of these elections polling as close?

Katie Hobbs refusing to debate likely hurt her. In the Senate race, Sen. Mark Kelly is ahead of Jason Masters by 5-10 in most polls.

only without Looney Lake present and without receiving questions in advance, saying Looney Lake can sit for questions by the media without her.

abortion and whether an AG should enforce a law that was in effect when AZ was just a territory. Hamadeh said his job would be to uphold the law that the court's have declared to be law and that it wasn't his job to challenge the law. Knowing that he is a tfg supporter means he is against equal rights, medical privacy - including abortion, etc., is delighted with the recent ruling relegating women back to before AZ was even a state and is cloaking his anti-abortion position behind this antiquated AZ law. The only reason I can think of why he is doing this is because of a blue wave in November in AZ.

IMO Kelly is a shoe-in for senator. I can only hope that the democrats running for Gov., SoS, and Sec. of Ed. ride his coat tails to victory in Nov.
