(66,478 posts)Repair and maintenance. Ukrainian tank mechanics know how to repair Russian-made T-72/T-80/T-90-series tanks. They can get them fixed up and back on the battlefield killing Russians a lot faster than if they had to drop everything and train to maintain Western tanks like the Abrams-series.

(9,337 posts)before the frontline is 2 miles away. Why would would do that? Because you're in a $5m bit of kit, less than two years old, and you don't want it shooting back at your own ppl.

Fire control systems are run by software, probably requiring input of passwords, etc...
