So many news stories - particularly with social media - get a full course press on them in the first 24 hours. People scrambling to set the narrative. Then a few days or weeks elapse, and it turns out not to have been what was claimed. Does anyone care at that point? No. And those false understandings of events can last and be perpetuated for a very long time.

Always important to remember. Headlines are Page 1. Corrections, when they happen at all, are Page 30.

That Fraternal Order of Police guy with the Laquan McDonald killing was just yikes.
