The Lincoln Project documentary on Showtime is something

An organization full of money-grubbing right-wing grifters who turn out to be not so great people with their own monied interests at heart?

The hell you say. If only someone had warned people . . .

Steve Schmidt is currently going to town on Twitter.

But, I mean, he was all in on it from the start and seems like he's forever pulling a "Everyone is terrible except me. You must always believe me. Not all those other horrible people - who, again, are everyone but me."

It's ballsy, I give it that.

Really if you read the history of the new right, the grift grew in tandem with the fundraising and the bare knuckle tactics. I think these guys changed the focus of who their enemies were but not their general way of operating. I think some are changing their way of thinking somewhat and others are adjusting their PR to get through this bump in the road. Time will tell who will fall into which categories.

The money was more important than young men being predated on.

At some point, liking some YouTube videos isn't enough to paper over grifting and covering up abuse.

But, maybe that's just me.

Regardless, I hate one-up one-down relationships. People who think they are superior to others are immoral, demented and undemocratic.

They made barrels of cash, and those 7 Republicans they targeted? They were all re-elected.

But they made $, which I'm sure was the whole point of the scam anyway.
