Almost every month for the last 4 years, Alexandria has held official town halls for NY-14 constituents to give updates on federal programs, her work in Congress, and to keep hearing about their needs.

And after New York finished its redistricting process this year, she also started holding a listening tour to meet people in new parts of the district.

These gatherings have always been productive, civil conversations about the important issues facing our community. But in the last two weeks, these civic spaces have been interrupted by far-right actors, spewing hate.

QAnon individuals have been showing up and aggressively disrupting many events across the country from queer poetry events to vaccine clinics. And on Wednesday, they came to our listening forum in Queens. They shouted anti-LGBTQ+ slurs and other profanities — attempting to drown out the constituents for whom the event was organized, and who had urgent questions around housing, inflation and more.

The far-right’s goal is to destroy the community spaces that are so essential to our democracy — and to intimidate people who disagree with them into silence. But we will keep listening to and meeting with our constituents. We’ll keep fostering democracy.

Both women are effective, and they hate any Democrat who works for their constituents. They expect Congressmen and Senators to be argumentative and sit back and collect their checks just just as they do. They're goal is to destroy the federal government.

All it would take is for someone to poke someone, physically or verbally, and punches could be thrown.

Maybe that's what these Quackpots want? To make 'Duh Libruls' out to be the villains by prodding someone to overreact.

Dems aren't the usual type to fall for that crap, but sooner or later there's going to be an 'incident' if these MAGAts have their way. Then charges will get filed and legal bills will start piling up.

We have to be the careful ones. They seem to usually show up as coordinated groups, with a photographer and enough people to make a problem if punching starts.

There should be some sort of recourse for such behavior. These lowlifes are manipulating the loopholes to their advantage.

In most states, if you ask someone to leave a venue you're responsible for/paying for, you can tell people to leave, and you don't need a reason for it. You don't owe them an explanation--or a space to be disruptive. You can throw them out for wearing brown shoes, and it's your right to do so.

If the disruptive refuse to leave, they are then guilty of criminal trespass. That's when you call the cops on them for breaking the law. Stop worrying about the optics and do what's necessary to maintain civility and decency.

So sick of people being wimps about reality.
