2. PolitiFact says half true

Not a lot of evidence to support the most salacious claims of torture and abuse.

But animal research did happen and the subjects were most likely euthanized.

3. It is not half true...he designed the experiments with no consideration for the animals involved

suffering. And there is evidence to support it...it has been proven true. His defense is he didn't actually kill the animals himself...which is no excuse. It was brought to his attention. And the experiments themselves were bullshit. I have seen this before when I worked with Doctors on research...they have these half-assed experiments to get money out of NIH...pointless but painful for the animals involved.

I don't like animal research although, it is necessary and I left the field of research because I didn't like it. But there are good people trying to help others...and then there are the grifters like Oz. Consider he never got another dime from NIH so he went off to grift desperate people who needed to lose weight or had arthritis pain or whatever. He is a grifter and a monster.

4. The NIH would have signed off on the ethics of the study.

The NIH typically makes a utilitarian judgment as to whether the research questions are worth the pain and suffering of the animals in the study. In this case they said yes it was.

Euthanizing animals after an experiment is over is normal.

6. Of course but I havent seen any evidence of actual wrong doing in this experiment.

Lots of opinions on the internet though.

Generally I find Politifact to have a liberal lean. If they say the claims are only half true (the true part being that he euthanized the dogs as intended in the study), then I am doubtful he dis anything truly wrong here.

Still, it makes for great emotionally compelling campaign ads for us.

There really isn’t much there, hence only a $2000 fine.

Not following procedure correctly is not the same as rampant abuse and pain/suffering that some claim.
