Found an Islamic Worship center right by my house doing early voting and dropped off my vote, my wife's, and my brother's. Feels good to get it in and counted!
Young gentleman that welcomed me in was super energetic, super helpful (making sure they were signed, dated, with a good phone number on the envelope), and guided me right to the drop box (while we chatted about the crazy wind and rain today in Phoenix).
VOTE! VOTE EARLY! GET IT DONE! Great experience.

(3,276 posts)Where I am, the local school board candidates do not identify by party. For all the others, I went pure blue but the local paper had an article where they asked each of the candidates the same question regarding, I believe, local safety. Only two of the candidates gave them an answer. One woman's answer was meaningless 2-sentence gibberish but another's was excellently thought out and articulated. We decided the would be the only school board worth voting for and we did so. We had no idea which party she was in as it was non-partisan.
As we walked out of the polling station, I noticed the group of Republicans with signs and a woman had a sign for that school board candidate we voted for. I walked up to her and asked if the was the candidate and she replied she was. So I told her I thought her reply to the newspaper was excellent ans she was the only Republican for which I voted. She nicely thanked me for supporting her. I don't think anyone else heard our conversation.

(2,013 posts)My wife did the best she could with the school board, but we didn't find out until after she sealed her envelope that one of the people she ABSOLUTELY should've voted for she didn't. Corrected as we could between myself and my brother.
