Florida Battleground

I wonder if anyone has any idea what the Democratic strategy should be going forward in Florida? We did well throughout much of the country this election cycle but Florida has become a Red Problem. The key there is probably the Latino vote which went conservative this election. I think that we need to run Latino/Latina candidates down there if we are ever to be competitive in Florida. What do you folks think we should be doing? I do not think that we should concede the State to the Repubs. It is a very expensive state to campaign in but I do not think that should deter us from trying.

From Day 1 of taking office, DeSantis rigged everything to make sure he and the Republicans could win. Things like the election police etc. The "Latinx" vote issue was peculiar to Florida, but not so in other states.

Also, I don't think "Latinx" is the appropriate way to deal with the issues in Florida. South Miami is heavily Cuban, and I personally don't think they will care all that much about a non-Cuban.

My other understanding is that Florida Democratic party apparatus is not very good, and that needs to be fixed.

Generally speaking, we need a Howard Dean/Barack Obama 50 state and every office (federal, state, regional, local) approach. I understand cash is king, but there are other ways that the main Democratic organizations can assist candidates at all levels and in all states.

Through mostly migration from other states. Many factors are involved in people's decision to move here, but the state is a fetid attractant to a large percentage of MAGAt cultists, which accounts for the surge of Bloated Tick Party registrants over the last six years that now surpasses Democrats.

It is now, temporarily, a red state. I say temporarily because housing costs are going to skyrocket so that only the wealthy can live here (this is a nod to the dearth of insurance companies as more go bankrupt or abandon the state entirely due to cost of hurricanes). Eventually, this no tax state - hah, I make a funny, there are plenty of taxes, just own a home - is going to rely on government handouts from the feds turning it into a basket case. With reduced essential services, Floridians will figure out that going back Blue is the way to dig them out of the Bald-Headed Fuck (Scott), Guv. Man Bewbs and Lil Sip of Water clusterfuck. (You can include Buckethead Rapist in that cohort).

I wouldn't put much into those states. They're a money pit, and those funds are better spent elsewhere.
