Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsI'm in Texas and I just donated to Warnock's run off fund.
I'm not a big donor usually, but this one is important.
Please donate what you can.
You know the Rs are going to throw everything they have.
We can't let up now.
I made sure it was to Warnock and not the DNC...
And I made sure it was for the runoff.
Just my personal plug, even if $5

(58,785 posts)have gotten as much as they have by flooding these midterm elections with BILLIONS of dollars.
And Russia, China and Sawdi Arabia are also working heavily to throw the government to the Republicans.
The stakes are enormous.

(22,269 posts)but you could customize it so I made sure it all went to him.
I will be writing postcards for Warnock, and phone banking. There is a great group that phonebanks for important Democratic races around the country, especially runoffs and special election. I made calls with them in 2021 for Ossoff and Warnock.

(7,870 posts)Are people still going around with this foolish notion that the DNC DOESN'T want Democrats to win or something?

(7,870 posts)Just know that the DNC *is* certainly doing what it thinks is right to get Democrats elected. For all the handwringing about their efforts prior to the election (e.g., not running enough ads on a certain subject, focusing too much on democracy and abortion, """supporting""" extremist Republican candidates in Republican primaries, etc.), it all actually worked. This will be the best performance for a Democratic president during his first midterm since at least Carter, and potentially even before that (depending on how many House seats we end up losing).

(646 posts)And voted that way, but...
white women in Texas broke for Abbot, and
that is really hard to hear.
I'm white. We have a lot of work to do.
I gave money to Warnock and Beto in the general.
If I can't help at home, I'll help in GA.

(1,247 posts)Military widows cant remarry without losing most benefits that their deceased husbands worked for.
Warnock is sponsoring legislation to fix this.
I am grateful and desperately want him to win.
Its called the Love Lives on Act if you are interested in reading about it. It is a no- cost bill to the government.
imavoter
(646 posts)I didn't know about this bill.
I'll look it up.
And I'm sorry for your loss.

(1,247 posts)I did not know anyone my age that had been widowed until I started going to military widow retreats. Its shocking.

(646 posts)If we had any Gold Star families, I didn't know.
However I learned quickly not to ask why a (military) parent
would be in their dress uniform on a random day.

(8,770 posts)We can bet our asses that the billionaires are gonna mainstream billions into Walker appointment to ease the ass kicking they have gotten in the midterms. Unlimited cash, win at all cost. Desperate billionaires are dangerous animals.
Expect tons of phone calls from trump and Graham trying to make up votes. They are after all above the law. Newt will Even give help. Election officials need to record every damn call

(54,415 posts)I maxed out to Warnock before the election, and Im not clear as to whether or not I am allowed to contribute more to the runoff fund. I hope to hear today from someone I know who is close to Warnock, since I have never met the man, or talked to his campaign.
imavoter
(646 posts)Glad you have a connection to ask.

(54,415 posts)But my connection IS Jon Ossoff, Georgia's other Senator.
Jon wrote back to tell me that I could contribute up to $2900 to: Warnock Victory Fund.
This I will do. He said I am also allowed to contribute up to $36,000 to the DSCC, but THAT is way above my pay grade.
I am putting the check to the Warnock Victory Fund in the mail this evening.
