He's an ignorant asshole, sure, but he's smart enough to know that while he is still banned from Twitter and "Truth Social" reaches a FRACTION of his former audience, the media...EVERY cable channel...still reports in detail every time he breaks wind.
I am assuming all of the major networks will carry his "announcement," and will give him two years of unlimited, free air time.
He hasn't shut the fuck up since leaving the White House, and it's about to get much worse.
Today would be a lovely day for an indictment.

(22,035 posts)Its Veterans Day and such an announcement would be disrespectful since this Memorial Day recognizes our fallen military people. And tomorrow is Trumps daughters wedding.
Monday morning at 9:00 am would be a great way to start the week!

(18,837 posts)Trump's rationale for doing it, other than ego and having two solid years of free media coverage, is to hold off any legal moves. I'd just like to see the wind taken out of his sails before Tuesday's Apprentice moment.

(18,837 posts)I don't think I've posted any of his garbage here since "Truth Social" started.
My Twitter feed is polluted daily with every one of his "Truth Social" posts. The media just can't get enough of him.

(115,683 posts)who were at least civil and respectful, and the possibility that someone as manifestly awful as TFG could be elected in the first place didn't really penetrate the national consciousness (or especially that of the media) until it was too late. As it turned out, his transgressive behavior was regarded by far too many people as a positive attribute, and since he was rewarded for being transgressive while in office (and because it's what he is), he keeps at it. Other former presidents have created charities, built houses, taken up painting, made speeches, or just relaxed and enjoyed themselves. But TFG needs the limelight. I am hoping he gets plenty of it in many courtrooms for years to come, until he finally achieves the obscurity he deserves in a federal prison.
