Clyburn is in his 80s. I don't think it will be him.

We're an oddly top-down directed party. That's what's been directed for quite some time now.

(7,876 posts)Yes, who knew it actually takes work and effort and learning and experience to ascend to a position as important and crucial as Minority Leader (or potential Speaker)? You mean a member whining on Twitter about how we need a new generation of leaders isn't qualifications enough?

(9,140 posts)And since I am intact on the bottom, I'm interested to know what physics shattering technique was used there to slide in that hand and make my mouth move with all those words I didn't say.

(7,876 posts)...our next generation of leaders will be voted in.
There's not.
Nor is it surprising that the next generation of leaders will be those that have put in the time and effort to learn from our current generation of leaders rather than just whining about them on social media.

(3,619 posts)I'm so bummed Tim Ryan wasn't re-elected. He would be Terrific!
I know the Speaker does not have to be a member of Congress. Is this a pipe dream? (probably). He has the Gumption needed. He appeals to moderates as well as progressives (in my humble opinion)
