MICHAEL MOORE: THE GOP IS IMPLODING IN FULL SPEED

[link:https://www.rawstory.com/michael-moore-the-gop-is-imploding-and-the-house-is-their-consolation-prize/|

"Republicans who barely won in a blue district can read the writing on the wall — if they want to stay in Congress, in order to win, they are going to have to switch parties. If just one or two do that, it could make all the difference in the Democrats being back in charge," wrote Moore. Furthermore, their majority is slim enough that they could be vulnerable if any vacancies or special elections occur.

"By winning the House, the Republicans may have won the battle, but they’ve lost the war. They know this. You can see it in their reactions over the past few days. Their party is imploding. It’s time for the few sane and moderate Republicans to jump ship and either become Democrats or declare as an independent and caucus with the Democrats," concluded Moore. "Or, just head out the door saying you’re going out for a pack of smokes… and never come back."

The speaker vote is only once per congress. The only way there is another vote is if the speaker resigns, or dies, right?

I've thought a couple times in the past that they're done. The thing is that 40 percent of the population. is batshit insane from 35 years of Reich wing propaganda. They will never stop buying the bullshit Between that and all the gerrymandering and voter suppression, they aren't going anywhere for the foreseeable future.

as a russian propaganda operation

they are largely falling apart because limbaugh, the moral and intellectual leader of the republican party, is pushing up daisies after telling millions for 30 years that smoking doesn't cause cancer. and in 2008 or before the russians started using him. it is the party of limbaugh, they're fucked

the proiblem is democrats aren't reminding them of that.

This "Hey! The GOP is TOAST" meme has been around as long as I have, and much much longer too. 1920's, at the least.

Every election the Dems win, some very very optimistic folks start predicting the imminent demise of the Rethuglican Party.

But every single time, the 1% spends a shitload of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$, puts lipstick on the Pig, changes the message to suit today's angry voter, and rises from it's putrid smelling ashes once again.

Time after Time after Time.

This is the Kraken We Dems must perpetually cut into pieces, only to have it form again.

Thanks 1%.

The followers are still out there but aren't likely to be as passionate or motivated when the starting personality is gone.
DeSantis doesn't strike me as having the appeal to the drones that TFG has. He's more a technocrats than an emotion triggering "leader".
The Rs put too many eggs in one basket (much like TFG did with his finances, otherwise he'd be an actual billionaire). Getting beyond that seems harder than they've estimated.

Trump's win in 2016 wasn't a landslide, it was something like 400,000 votes in swing states and Moore was wrong about why that happened.

There was no landslide in 2016 and no landslide in 2022.

He said Romney would win in 2012 because he had more money. Predicted the only way Democrats would win in 2020 was with a beloved celerity like Oprah, Michelle Obama, Sully Sullenberger, Tom Hanks because eww, everybody hates establishment Democrats. He repeated the conspiracy theory that the DNC rigged primaries.

Said about Obama, "This is how you'll be remembered. He was the first black president," then later said Obama was the best president in his lifetime and that he loves Obama.

Said Obama faked drinking Flint water, said "I've come to the conclusion that the old guard of the Democratic Party is a greater roadblock to progress than Trump. Because they're taking half-measures; because they're beholden to the same money and interests." Oh right, BOTH SIDES CORRUPT!!!!!
