arizona commisioners refusing to certify the election may face felony charges

under arizona law

A person charged with performance of any duty under any law relating to elections who knowingly refuses to perform such duty, or who, in his official capacity, knowingly acts in violation of any provision of such law, is guilty of a class 6 felony unless a different punishment for such act or omission is prescribed by law.

+2 Democratic seats. Let them stew about shrinking their narrow majority, while they fight the legal cases.

Here's an interesting opinion piece written by one Dem and one Rep, from azcentral.com...

They don't want to certify? Fine.
Le4t them NOT certify.

then give the House seat to the Dem. I'm ok with that.

THEN CHARGE THEM ALL WITH THE FELONY.

Maybe a couple years behind bars will do them good, make the republican party think twice about trying to overthrow the US government.

I support the USA.

I see no problem here.

Clearly, the commissioners have not fully thought this through.

If the Commission fails to uphold its sworn task, then personal consequences need to ensue. Public trial with jail or fines, or whatever - that needs to happen for everyone to see.

In the meantime, let the Dems win the election in dispute. Keep it on schedule. If Arizona lets this drag out then the perpetrators have won.

and I sincerely hope I'm joined by a lot of voters in Cochise Co, AZ, because if charges are filed, the whole bunch will either quit or go into hiding, at which point a special election can be held for candidates who pledge to do their jobs.

Dec 2022
The top Cochise County, Ariz. prosecutor said he may bring charges against members of the board of supervisors who have refused to certify the results of the general election.
Brian McIntyre told Capitol Media Services he already was looking at what crimes may have committed before former Arizona Attorney General Terry Goddard and former Maricopa County Attorney Rick Romley wrote to him urging him to act. McIntyre gave no indication how quickly he will make a decision.
