People Can Now Carry Guns Without A License In Half Of America's States

SNIP

Alabamians woke up Sunday with the right to carry a gun without a license.

The change, implemented by a state law passed last year, marked a major milestone: half of America’s 50 states now allow people to carry handguns without first seeking a permit.

Thirteen years ago, only two states — Vermont and Alaska — allowed its residents the unfettered right to carry a gun, relying on the Constitution’s Second Amendment as a blanket permit for all.

Since 2010, however, nearly two dozen states have followed suit, with 11 of them passing permitless carry laws in the last three years alone.

I expect even looser gun laws and more deaths for the rest of my lifetime. This was and has been the norm.

That's for residents of the state.

There are 31 states that do not require a permit to open carry.

I am suspect of anyone who claims to be a good guy, but feels it's necessary to carry a gun. There's a fear factor there that can result in overreaction and escalation in a situation where it isn't warranted.
All it takes is one mistake to turn a good guy with a gun into a bad guy.

That will not change since we flipped the legislature and re-elected the Big Gretch.

You also have to be very careful open carrying a handgun in MI. Any concealment in the process without the permit can expose you to a felony illegal concealment charge.

Just strap on your holster and gun and you’re good to go. Wear a cowboy hat for extra right wing effect. But you’ll need a permit for concealed carry.

that you think are taking your property, or might be considering breaking into your house, and we will return to our Hollywood western roots. I guess that mutually agreed upon combat in the streets at high noon is next.
