Jeremiah Green, Modest Mouse drummer, dies at 45 after cancer diagnosis announced days ago

Modest Mouse drummer Jeremiah Green has died following a stage 4 cancer diagnosis, the band announced on Instagram on New Year's Eve. He was 45.

"I don’t know a way to ease into this: Today we lost our dear friend Jeremiah. He laid down to rest and simply faded out," the post read.

"I’d like to say a bunch of pretty words right now, but it just isn’t the time. These will come later, and from many people. Please appreciate all the love you give, get, have given, and will get. Above all, Jeremiah was about love."

Green's death comes days after the band's frontman Isaac Brock announced Green was undergoing treatment for cancer and asked friends and fans for support.

2. We were the house band at a little snowboarder bar in Glacier, WA

for awhile in the mid 90's. Modest Mouse were just kids, and would sometimes come up north to play there before they were well known, and they'd pack the place. Fun band with high positive energy.

Sad news. RIP Jeremiah, you made a lot of people dance and be happy.
