Limbaugh had a saying about climate change that proved how foolish he was as a thinker

To paraphrase, he used to say that Liberals were “arrogant to think that humans had the power to change the climate, that the earth was so huge, and that humans were so small in the scheme of nature they couldn't possibly have the power to affect climate”.

The real arrogance of course is in the belief that we as humans can do whatever we like to the atmosphere and never have to pay a price. And, that at the very least, we should er on the side of caution.

I bring this up because I've heard Limbaugh's foolishness parroted by several climate change deniers recently. They like to state it as some type of philosophical gotcha.

Sadly, it will take many years to undo the damage that fool has done.

So why not believe the activities of billions of people using modern chemistry in their everyday technology could not in net affect the climate?

Humans have had a sufficient nuclear arsenal to globally alter the climate with a push of the button since the 1960's.

In short, he was a total moron.

we proved during covid that our lockdowns made a huge difference in our climate. The animals came out of the woods. The skies cleared. The storms calmed. We proved it did matter!

to the religious right. Instead of the Earth being so huge, the religious right says that god's work is so powerful that humans are arrogant to think that we could damage it.

filling in for limbaugh, mark steyn said limbaugh was delaying and cancelling the best cancer treatments money could buy in order to serve him. how ironic, trump rode him into the white house and then put him out of his misery. without limbaugh trump wouldn't have gotten anywhere near the WH. and now he's in a lot bigger trouble and the GOP is falling apart without him.

limbaugh was the one who turned that russian hack of east anglia climate scientists emails into the 2009 'climategate' hoax. apparently the hack happened on a Thursday and by monday wikileaks had been involved and he had the out-of-context emails ready to go for his show. by the end of the week mainstream media was giving 'climategate' repeaters time and there was no way any republican pol could call it anything but a hoax. trump used it at the time, suggesting they were both getting fed by putin back in 2009.

it still makes it impossible for house GOP to do anything and that has cemented in massive death and destruction. not to mention nicotine, the drug war, environmental deregulation, the iraq war, etc

Whether or not he liked Chump didn't matter, he wanted to make sure Hillary lost. Limbaugh thereby denied this country of arguably the best leadership we could have ever had.

What a complete and evil asshole he was!

Physics and atmospheric science isn't their strong suit. A good rejoinder to their "gotcha" is "well, I could explain it to you, but I'm afraid it's beyond your limited comprehension."
