Assuming Repubs can actually organize the house, they are going to get destroyed in 24

The good news if McCarthy gets the gavel is after 2 years of GOP shitstorm which will amount to nothing real, we will get supermajorities in both houses which will allow us to do such things as ban assault weapons, have a 70% top marginal tax rate and end the Electoral College.

Newt is upset MAGA House Reps won’t accept the results of their election: “I don’t understand what they’re doing. They’re saying they have the right to screw up everything. Anybody who tried to replace Kevin would face total chaos, it would be impossible to govern.”

Gerrymandering assures we’re not getting a supermajority in the House and the Senate doesn’t line up well for us in ‘24. Nothing is impossible of course but it seems quite unlikely.

You have to keep in mind that Republicans are batshit crazy. They might find any government shutdowns and general chaos to be a good thing. Their voters will show up.

The reason batshit crazy Republicans are elected is because a majority or Republican voters are batshit crazy.

Congress will be a shitshow, but the combination of whataboutism, false equivalence, lies, and just plain ignorance will work on the dedicated cretins. They will have FOX NEWS. OAN, NEWSMAX, and the Russian FSB working hard!

If this session turns into a clown show of continuous, empty investigations where nothing but nothing gets done (highly anticipated), and we see a lot of in-fighting between members, it will put the Republicans' penchant for chaos and lack of governance ability/intent front and center.

Day-after-day-after-day.

No doubt this will be unpleasant and drive Dems insane. But . . .

It will also turn-off the wider, moderate public who is sick and tired of the craziness, the hate and ignorance.

There's a reason Dems bucked all the prognosticators' tales of woe and sorrow in November, turned the Red Wave/Tsunami into a ripple. Reportedly, the GOP is 'concerned' about how badly they lost the youth vote. If they give a 2-year performance of conspiratorial craziness, then they'll lose across all demographics.

With the exception of the Maga-cult, of course. With whom they can march straight to Hell.

Going to get very, very interesting! Popcorn time.

enough republican Senate seats up for grabs in '24 to give us 67 votes.

67 will be for Constitutional Amendments. Still, there's zero chance we're picking up 9 votes in '24.

Looking at the 2024 Senate map, how are we picking up 9 votes? From where?

we know that the Republicans are going to completely make a shitshow of the House. We'll have 2 more years of voters coming online that don't like the Republican agenda and will be motivated to vote. Meanwhile, more Republicans who are unvaccinated will die as new variants of Covid kill them. And the core of the party is reaching end-of life. State Republican legislatures will do their best to fuck things up and there will be plenty of new GOP outrages to be exposed.

At some point, the sane voters will overwhelm the Fox News morons in the voting booth. Could be a sea change at some point. 2024? Maybe, but the long game doesn't favor the Organized Crime Party.
