Narcotics Arrest Prompts GA Republican To Quit Before Taking Office

Another day, another Republican official or candidate arrested. Here’s today’s Republican sleazebag, via AP:
Rampey was charged in Barrow County with six counts of obtaining drugs by misrepresentation or theft, six counts of exploiting an elder or disabled adult, five counts of burglary and one count of drug possession.
Rampey, who could have faced suspension once he was sworn in, reportedly gave up his seat because of pressure from Republican leaders in Georgia. But not because any of them are showing more decency than George Santos or the Republican leadership in Washington who seem to have no problem with a liar and likely criminal taking office.
