Herschel Walker kept millions raised during election race

Former Georgia Bulldogs star Herschel Walker failed in spectacular fashion against Democratic incumbent Senator Raphael Warnock in the runoff election last month, eventually conceding the race when he trailed by more than 100,000 votes on election night, a staggering amount given the Republican standing of the state and performance of other Republican candidates in Georgia.

While Fox News dubbed him one of their biggest political losers of the year and the Republican Party would love to forget his campaign ever existed, there are still some lingering bits of news surrounding the campaign.

-snip-

Now, with Walker’s campaign filing its campaign finance reports late last week, we learned that his campaign held onto more than $5 million when the election was over. Per NBC News, it’s unclear why Walker didn’t spend that money, especially given how close the runoff election was in the final days.

NBC News notes that it’s not unheard of for a losing candidate to keep some of the money raised during an election. There is a lot of leeway for how that money can be spent, but it’s usually donated to other candidates or PACs, donated to charity, or used for a future political purpose. It’s hard to imagine Walker has much of a future in politics, so we’ll have to see what happens to all that money people donated to him.

Republicans. After all they are all anti-government and yet run for a government office. Seems weird to me.

Herschel, Trump, and the GOP sent out millions of emails seeking desperately needed money.

It was supposedly to finance the campaign.

Which is why he didn't care in the least how he was being used if he was even able to understand he was being used because it made him lots of money without needing to put out any effort for it.
