I think they both want that Senate seat should Feinstein bow out. And Ro Khanna, Barbara Lee...a wealth of talent, but might be tough to decide.
PS Elizabeth Warren has already endorsed Katie.

(94,725 posts)California has a top-two jungle Primary. Too many Democrats chopping up the Primary vote could give the Republican candidates an inroad.

(43,497 posts)safe (at least one Dem will make the generel), but yes, 4, 5, or more Dems who are all going to draw significant numbers can get problematic.

(3,697 posts)when Shantel ran for re-election. She's effective in the House and holds a red leaning seat that Republicans could win. I think she needs to stay there for a while.

(7,872 posts)I don't hate her for it, but given the choice between her and another equally (or more...) qualified Democratic candidate, I would vote for her opponent.

If Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) retires as many expect in 2024, Mr. Schiff appears likely to run for Senate. It is possible that Mr. McCarthys pettiness could redound to the political benefit of his fellow Californian. He might have laid the groundwork for Mr. Schiff to succeed Ms. Feinstein not only as a senator but also in a leading role on the Senate Intelligence Committee.
