Don't say anything bad about those in the same business as you.
For example, this has prohibited Mainstream Media from criticizing such outlets as FOXNews. It's a business decision.
But now, FOX is in court today, defending themselves from attacking another business, although not associated with the media. Dominion Voting Machines has deposed Rupert Murdoch to testify in defense of the lies and dangerous propaganda they have recklessly and carelessly propagated throughout our society. FOX is being sued for $1.6 Billion dollars.
It is very difficult to win a legal case against the media of this country, but this could be an exception?
It is sad that others in the Mainstream Media have been so slow to criticize FOX in the past, and even now.

(21,379 posts)tells me that Dominion likes its chances. These cases usually don't go to trial, FOX will get pretty bad publicity when it loses.

(43,249 posts)Both Dan Rather and Scott Pelle got ejected from the anchor chair. I consider them to be, perhaps along with Peter Jennings, the last bits of insight and integrity in that position. Talking heads are political pacifiers who balance competing interests nowadays. We get occasional glimpses of wisdom and profound reasoning, but it's fleeting, almost as if someone has reminded them, "Hey, not too much of that, it's bad for us and it's bad for your career." Let's see if Nicole Wallace is still shining in five years.

(9,091 posts)I've seen plenty of CNN and MSNBC material discussing FOX and vice versa. That was literally Brian Stetler's entire job.
Not sure where this idea that they never criticize each other comes from.
