For the first time in a long time, their party seems to have no obvious frontrunner or standard bearer. I keep hearing Paul Ryan mentioned due to his role as the VP candidate this year but, if history is any indication concerning losing VP nominees, I doubt he has any future in national politics.

Jeb is running
He has a book coming out next year
And he will spin himself as the sane alternative who knows how to win
Lucky for us they will have a civil war
And a Clinton knows how to defeat a bBUsh and will do so again in 2016 like they did in 1992
But the dems will need to be united
And the only reason in 2008 Hillary didn't win was because Obama's voters voted for him.
With his support, all will vote for her.(his core voters/fans) and she shall prevail in a landslide
And win Texas too (the last remaining big red state)

(33,956 posts)if they find their identity in the extreme, I think Paul Ryan will run.
If they find their identity in the moderate part, I think Jeb Bush will give it a whirl.

(72,790 posts)Would be my guess.
The Repubs need to run a woman or a minority to even come close, imo, to winning the White House.
The Repubs can no longer win a national election with a base that is white, older and filled with religious zealots.
The Repubs need to appeal to a broader audience.

(50,557 posts)Expect Chris Christie to be there. Also a Bush, prob Jeb.
They, the Work Across the Aisle R's, will face another batch of teabaggers. Expect Bob McDonnell and Scott Walker to try it. Also Nikki Haley, since she should be available in January 2015.
We might also see Sheldon Adelson, who would test the religious right's resolve.
It won't matter though - Obama's team will be there for the next Democrat.

It will take something over two years to tell.
