It's obvious... America is becoming a liberal nation.

When I was a child I walked to my neighbourhood school - all white. It was just a few blocks from my home. I remember when busing began. The community bused students from outside of the neighbourhood to the school. Consider the madness in the community. The protests, rock throwing, name calling, etc.. etc.. It was like that for quite awhile.

Last night, for the second time, this racist country elected a black president.

I am so proud of my country. The table is finally turning....

Still can't understand why ANYONE would vote for Mitt Romney.

The 1820s saw the Spanish colonies throw out church and crown in tandem with slavery. The USA was behind the times then, had a distinct political experience with Britain and Native Nations, and has yet to wipe out the residual racism.

unprecedented (gay marriage, marijuana, throwing out some of the worst right-wingers, etc.). Relatively speaking, though, Obama's pretty moderate, despite the insane demonizing of him by the far Right. I'm only saying this from my perspective pretty far on the Left. So it's all relative.

"Americans can always be counted on to do the right thing...after they have exhausted all other possibilities."

I think we are finally getting it right.
