All the Teabaggers, Neocons, Dittoheads, Racists and unrepentant Rapture Righties must be suffering serious shell shock this morning. They woke up, rubbed their eyes, turned on their TV’s and dropped their bibles and/or Guns-N-Ammo magazines in stunned realization that it wasn’t just a bad dream – the black man was actually returned to the White House.

Almost as bad, several states legalized marriage equality and recreational marijuana use. Egad. The godless queers can get married while smoking pot! Hurry up, Marge, it’s time to build another ark! An’ don’t look behind ya’, you’ll turn to a pillar of salt!

You have to feel sorry for them. They believed their Holy-men, – Limbaugh and Beck and Hannity and O’Reilly and the lesser minions – who coddled them and assured them that Romney and Ryan were the Chosen Ones to lead them out of the darkness that was . . . well, the darker-than-Caucasoid President in the White House. Of course they’re suffering some kind of psychic shock today. We know Rush “Deaf by Temptation” Limbaugh can’t part with as much as a gram of his precious stash, but the least Beck and the other Neocon gurus could do is hop in their private Leer Jets and make an emergency Xanax drop over the faithful they so grievously deceived.

Hopefully, these lost souls will find a support group somewhere to ease them into the reality that the majority of Americans did not want to see a return to Feudalism and medieval restrictions on women’s rights, equal rights, worker’s rights, minority rights, children’s rights . . . . ad infinitum.

Turns out, that’s not the kind of change anybody could believe in.

I cried like a baby during Our President's victory speech. On inaugural day 2009 we went to the Oakland Coliseum to watch the ceremony on the Jumbotron. Cried then too.

74. I worked in Marin for years. Bank of Marin was the best.

Had to move my account when the company moved East Bay, but I love them still.

Also fond memories of the Safeway at Strawberry in Mill Valley. They employed a really good-looking young man - maybe 30 - who would walk around the store in a red apron and greet people. It was apparent he was mentally challenged, but he enjoyed his job so much and was such a delight to interact with, it made it more of a pleasure to shop there.

I have only been at the Strawberry Safeway once or twice at the most-- and I've lived here forever. I started out in Mill Valley, then moved to Fairfax, then to Terra Linda. I go to its Safeway when needed. I've heard good things about the Bank of Marin-- right now I'm with a credit union.

Yes indeed, I wouldn't live anywhere else-- except maybe Mendocino. (But so pricey!!! Worse than Marin, I think!)

One thing I am still ticked off about is how KGO Radio 810 morphed into some sort of Clear Channel repuke station. I flipped the radio on this morning and some unfamiliar woman's voice was insisting that the infamous "47% video" was "taken out of context." Really? I didn't stay on the station after I heard her say that. (And she was the HOST-- not a caller!) Honestly, it's really a shame that all those cool talk show hosts (except for Ronn Owens, who seems to have gotten rather red the last couple of decades) were shown the door. What a drag.

But, nonetheless...

76. Mr. pig & I were flummoxed by what happened to KGO

It used to be our default station until Quake/Green/KNEW came on the scene (and even they're now running Beck, etc. in the morning).

KGO ruled the West Coast with 50,000 watts for decades under Mickey Luckoff (Ronn Owens notwithstanding - whatever happened to him after 911 anyway?). Then Disney followed by Clear Channel and the descent into madness.

I used to be able to set my watch (when I wore one) by KGO hosts. The wholesale dumping of their talent was weird. I understand Owens stayed only because he had an iron-clad contract for a couple of years.

So sad. I used to drive to work, fix my dinner, do my laundry listening to KGO and right now they're dead to me.

Another comment - Mr. pig and I noticed the decline in sponsorship quality over the years. Used to be a lot of local businesses and then devolved into how to sell gold, buy some questionable insurance, or get products to help your love life.

I haven't sampled their sister station, KSFO, where some of the talent reportedly fled. Have you?
