President Obama, Mrs. Obama, The Bidens, Thank you for being a class act with nerves of steel to stand up to the onslaught that Citizens United brought forth against our Democracy. We might not realize it now but we are the generation that stood up to the largest threat that American Democracy has ever seen. Thank you for leading us through that dark time.
And finally, thank you my DU brothers and sisters. When I stumbled upon DU a few years ago I had no idea that such a place existed. I was sick of the lies of CNN, sick of every news outlet I knew of slanting us further and further towards a Corporate Theocracy and then I stumbled upon DU. And you have taught me well. You have linked me to a world of truth in politics populated by people just like myself. People who just want the truth and a fair playing field. Even when we were at our most savage to Mitt it was because of his choices and his actions. I grew up with Christians who hated "Cultists" (Mormons) and, believe me, their religion is an easy target for mockery. Yet we rarely went there (if it weren't for the magic underpants not much would have been said at all).
You are a class act DU. You have educated me well. You are a fine bunch of peeps, so thank you for being in my life. It is a richer place because of you.
