That didn't happen until 1980. Voted for Nixon, Ford and John Anderson. Been around for awhile.
I FEEL SO GRATEFUL TO HAVE LIVED TO SEE THE OBAMA PRESIDENCY AND TO HAVE HAD THE PRIVILEGE OF VOTING FOR SUCH AN ABSOLUTELY HUMAN BEING.

(2,781 posts)my mother's neighbor, who is in her late 80's and didn't start voting Dem until either Kerry or Obama's first election, and she LOVES Obama, and fights all the time with her John Birch Society mega-rich business guy brother!
So good for you! I'm glad to see a half-African-American man with a foreign-sounding name win the presidency too. My mother unfortunately, though she liked him a lot, didn't live to see him get elected. Nor did my dad, who was a political science professor... he would've loved it.

(3,205 posts)...voted for Nixon (I had just got out of the Marines), Carter (he was an Annapolis grad, I thought he'd be a better leader), Anderson, Reagan, Bush I. 1988 was the last year I voted for a republican for any office.
I'm proud to have voted for Obama twice. (voted for Clinton twice, too).
Haven't seen you in forever! How is geni?
