New book promises to reveal why Manhattan DA Bragg declined to indict Trump

New book promises to reveal why Manhattan DA declined to indict Trump
-- and here's who doesn't want you to read it

A tell-all book about the Manhattan district attorney's office investigation into Donald Trump could be held up by a nondisclosure agreement.

The Daily Beast obtained the NDA warning that “any work performed for the office” is “privileged and confidential," which could jeopardize publication of the book, People vs. Donald Trump: An Inside Account, written by former special assistant DA Mark Pomerantz -- one of two prosecutors who quit in protest when incoming district attorney Alvin Bragg shied way from indicting the former president.

"That indictment never happened," says publisher Simon & Schuster. "This book explains why."

The book, which is due out Feb. 7, gives an inside account of the three-year investigation by Manhattan district attorneys to show that Trump defrauded banks and insurers, lied about real estate values on financial forms, avoided corporate taxes and violated campaign laws by paying hush money to porn actress Stormy Daniels.

Bragg has recently won two tax fraud convictions against Trump companies and finance chief Allen Weisselberg, and has indicated he may revive the case against the former president, but his office is now trying to block the Pomerantz book from hitting store shelves.

so much time and money wasted is a disgrace and Bragg should be made to answer why and if not him, then perhaps this book will provide the explanation.

Especially on those charges where the proof is all on paper in filings.

I’m not. Because I already wrote and published God and Santa Claus Trump Trump.

Otherwise, yes, I believe every person on the planet with quill pen and inkwell is busily scribbling away.

It's to get the heat off him that this book will cause!

Bragg has already returned most of the exhibits and proof Pomerantz collected for the case he had READY to go to court, so the idea of reopening the case is ridiculous. So some of us here were wondering what Bragg's game was in announcing that.

Well, here's the answer. Live long enough and you'll get all the answers.

On February 23, 2022, Pomerantz resigned from his role as special assistant to the New York County DA. Carey R. Dunne, who was also leading the investigation of Trump, also resigned.

In his letter of resignation, Pomerantz expressed frustration at the decision of the new Manhattan DA, Alvin Bragg, not to pursue an indictment of Trump. Pomerantz said there was "evidence sufficient to establish Mr. Trump’s guilt beyond a reasonable doubt" and that "the public interest warrants the criminal prosecution of Mr. Trump."

Closing his letter, Pomerantz wrote: "I fear that your decision means that Mr. Trump will not be held fully accountable for his crimes. I have worked too hard as a lawyer, and for too long, now to become a passive participant in what I believe to be a grave failure of justice. I therefore resign from my position as a Special Assistant District Attorney, effective immediately."

By April 2022, Pomerantz returned to Paul Weiss, as of counsel in its litigation department.

I’m looking forward to finding out what prompted the “grave failure of justice”. It can’t have been lack of evidence.

he thought was strong (and he is one to know) and the case was shut down.

I think it IS patriotic for him to tell what he knows. Crimes have been committed and not prosecuted.
