Why Trump remains so obsessed about the "Russia, Russia, Russia hoax"?

Nothing seems to bother him to the degree of the "Russia hoax"?

Why?

Because he knows something is out there and it is just a matter of time until it is discovered.

He hopes to discredit and minimize it to the point no one will believe it when it is finally exposed.

With the latest breaking news from the NY Times, it may be getting very close to being discovered? Former Special Counsel, John Durham, discovered a possible criminal act while he attempting to find dirt on Hillary after the election of 2016. He was pushed former AG Bill Barr to find something, surely at the urging of Donald Trump.

This seems like a story worth following.

His ego will be shattered if it is found out that Putin & the Russians got him elected.

He wants everyone to think it was all him -Donald J. Tr**p - that got him elected.

1. Becoming President was the crowning glory of a life where, given what was given to him, he knew he underperformed. If the credit should go to actions by Russia, it means it was not him. Note I speak of becoming president not governing.

2. The Russia, Russia, Russia always seemed over the top. Which suggested a nervousness. When he repeated no collusion thousands if times it may me more likely to believe there was collusion.

"An Awkward Tip
On one of Mr. Barr and Mr. Durham’s trips to Europe, according to people familiar with the matter, Italian officials — while denying any role in setting off the Russia investigation — unexpectedly offered a potentially explosive tip linking Mr. Trump to certain suspected financial crimes."

Mr. Barr and Mr. Durham decided that the tip was too serious and credible to ignore. But rather than assign it to another prosecutor, Mr. Barr had Mr. Durham investigate the matter himself — giving him criminal prosecution powers for the first time — even though the possible wrongdoing by Mr. Trump did not fall squarely within Mr. Durham’s assignment to scrutinize the origins of the Russia inquiry, the people said.

Mr. Durham never filed charges, and it remains unclear what level of an investigation it was, what steps he took, what he learned and whether anyone at the White House ever found out. The extraordinary fact that Mr. Durham opened a criminal investigation that included scrutinizing Mr. Trump has remained secret."

Trump humiliated the United States in Helsinki, took Putin's word over his own intelligence community and looked like a whipped dog after his 'private' conversation with Putin (no interpreter's notes allowed). Putin on the other hand looked positively giddy. Why not? The biggest, most successful political/intelligence heist in history.

That was the moment Trump clearly revealed himself as Putin's poodle. To the whole frigging world!

my part. Long suspected his long preoccupation and nervousness with his Russian financial connection, which goes back to the 70s, is linked inexorably with one of Putin's spy paymasters.
