How many woman got sent to Washington last night? Congress? Senate?

Since I teach I find myself always hoping for a minority win in Government. I love that, for no matter how long the United States exists, every teacher can look every little African American in the face and say, "An African American can work hard and become President just like anybody else."

I can now tell a gay student, you can grow up to be a Congressman or Senator. Look at Barney and Tammy.

We now have a Asian Woman Senator from Hawaii.

I love it. I love the melting pot that America is. I will love it more when Congress looks more like the people but until then, I will savor and enjoy these wins when they come. And I love how many women I saw winning last night. I truly believe there would be a lot less war if the moms were in charge.

Congrats Ladies, I'm sure it feels pretty darned good today!

the environment, and our core values. She's a tough smart wahine and she is going to be soooo strong and good for Hawaii and the US!

Missing Senator Akaka already. He is such a special man, so much aloha. The last real gentleman in the Senate, I think. He is the ambassador of aloha.
