I heard on the local FOX-affiliated radio station in Tulsa that gun sales are up sharply today after the election.
Because, like happened after Obama's 2008 election, everyone's guns got taken away.
Anyway, they talk to a gun seller somewhere who says in the short term this is good for business, but then... he opines... "what if in the long run they do take our guns away, maybe even ban them? I don't think we [Americans] want that."
Is anyone really surprised? And I don't mean surprised that conservatives are so easily duped by the liberal-gun-banner myth and running around madly buying guns since Obama's re-election. Rather, I mean: is anyone really surprised that GUN SELLERS -- who profit greatly from the fear that guns will be banned -- are out there in the media propagating that myth?
Knock, knock -- Hello conservative gun-clingers! Gun sellers really appreciate your business AND your predictability AND your gullibility.

(5,580 posts)With no registers who even knows who has what guns. People will just hide them and who is going toncollect them. I think you would run out of cops well before you collect all the guns.

(68,918 posts)about catapulting outlaws? It's messed up. Just thought I'd let you know, Baby...
Also, we have a nicer system here than over at FreeRepublic. You can hit reply on my post, so your response shows up under mine. Because you messed that up too. It's okay though, Darling.

(6 posts)OK thanx. Not sure how to fix it. What it says, in Latin. is that 'if catapults are outlawed, only outlaws will have catapults'. Struck my funnybone when I first read it. But it has proven true thru the centurys. There's plenty of great essays on the subject of free men having the means to protect themselves from tyranny, of any sort, available if you're willing to look

I'll be handing out Korans and burqas (required!) today. Oh, and asking for free stuff from everybody.

I still don't understand needing more than three or four guns. I don't want to outlaw having more than that, I just don't grasp it. A large caliber rifle (e.g. .30) for hunting, a small caliber rifle(e.g. .22 or .25) for varmints, a shotgun for hunting, and a handgun. You can't shoot more than one at a time anyway.

Call me on my Obamaphone and I'll let you come over and have a few of my food-stamp-purchased steaks thrown on the grill for you. And then after we get done drinking all the 40-ounces (also bought with food stamps), I figure we'll go out looting. Again, because we're liberal and that's what we do.
