Michigan Highway Shooting Suspect Identified as Raulie Wayne Casteel

A Detroit-area man who may be involved in two dozen highway shootings was arraigned today on charges stemming from one incident, as investigators gather more evidence to link him to the other shootings.

Raulie Wayne Casteel, 43, was arrested in connection with a shooting that took place on the Interstate 96 on Oct. 18, Livingston County Prosecutor David Morris said at a news conference following the arraignment.

Morris did not say whether Casteel had entered a plea.

Casteel is charged with six counts for the shooting in Livingston County, including three counts of felony firearms, one count of assault with a dangerous weapon, one count of assault with a dangerous weapon with unlawful intent, and one count of discharging from a vehicle.

From what I've read, he shot at people in oncoming traffic, which would have limited his ability to select his targets.

Seriously, you read that guys twitter page and it's right-wing talking point after right-wing talking point. His mother says that he was a normal and nice guy growing up, but that he became "mentally ill" somewhat recently. The twitter posts, however, though suggesting some paranoia, do not read like psychosis. Pushed over the edge by the right-wing, would be my guess.
