Dear GOP, rush, hannity, beck, and my GOP friends - some words of advice to help you

For a long time now I have been painted as the enemy (well not just me, but liberals in general). This strategy is not only not working, it is wholly inaccurate.

I love this country and it's people as much as anyone.

I love life. You say you do so when it comes to abortions:
- Since 1972 and Roe V Wade how many republican admins have you had and nothing changed? It won't. When a candidate tells you they are pro-life, what do you expect that to mean and based on the history of your own party what do you really think is going to happen?

- What else does pro-life extend to? You say you want to protect the innocent.
Like kids who are ill, hungry, in harms way from our bombs in wars, suffering from sanctions and dying because of them? Why does being pro-life and caring about others end when a child is born - are they able to take care of themselves at that point? "Oh well, then it is up to their mom if they have anything or not, and if they suffer and die it is her fault, etc" - so you wanna drop protections at birth? Your care ends in one moment, birth, which makes me wonder how much you actually care about life.

Those of us on the left are pro-life. It extends far beyond the womb, but then it gets harder and actually requires you to do something instead of restricting medical decisions. My X died because she had a child. It wrecked her already fragile body.

You call people murderers and god haters because they are for a medical procedure, and then wave your flags as you rain down death on men, women, and children from afar in wars.

You call parents who need assistance lazy, worthless, when all they are trying to do is survive and care for those kids who you once felt the need to protect.

We can both be pro-life, but yours ends at birth and suddenly that child is on it's own (or as noted earlier, at the mercy of their parent - a choice you did not approve of earlier if it impacted the fetus).

- Economy and jobs, getting rich

We cannot all be business owners. It is not possible, who would work to make things? There has always - always - and will always be a need for people to work. Whether it be on farms, in an office, assembly line, etc.

What is wrong with wanting the same thing we want for other investors? You invest money in a company, you get a return. You work for them - invest part of your life, what is wrong with also wanting a piece of that pie? The laziest people in the world can make the most by simply giving cash and doing absolutely nothing. The people who work the hardest are getting the least.

Is it wrong to ask for a return on what you have invested - to have a union, for example, to ensure you get something in return for your work...like the ability to pay your bills and make ends meet by working just one job?

Asking for that means I am a socialist/commie/free loader etc in your terms (unless, as noted, an investor with just cash).

- Defense

Yes I want defense spending. We have 20 aircraft carriers, more than all the world combined. Enough missiles to destroy the world. Best planes.

We defend the UK, who has 2 aircraft carriers (and zero from 2014-2017), we defend europe with missile defense and troops. We are paying 'welfare' to all these other countries all over the globe who don't want to use their money for such things. Me, you, everyone here is shelling money out of their paychecks for others - but that is ok with you. Welfare for other countries on defense is ok?

We have similar goals, we want a strong defense - we just don't always agree on where that money should go or how much.

But I get called names because I don't want to fund more wars and weapons - even when we have the most and best already and are using my money to provide defense welfare for other countries.

-Regulations

There are some silly ones. Some burdensome ones.

If I could trust corporations to do the right thing we would not need them. But look at history. Dumping chemicals in rivers, streams, rivers of fire. These things affect us all.

It impacts the ability of people to live off the land and streams (fishing/etc). A few impacting the many for money.

When people like me are for stopping such things we called anti-job/anti-corporation/etc and portrayed as though we hate big business. I don't hate them, just want them to respect things outside of themselves and their profit.

It is NOT all about money. We are not a corporation but a country of people who have similar ideals and values and we want to insure that a few don't impact the many's ability to use our resources.

-Lastly

When you run a candidate and try to tell us we are all lazy, just want something for free, hate america, want to see sharia law here, want to remove all rights, etc and so on ---- well you are either being lied to or are just stupid.

When you want your religion to be the guide for laws here, that sounds a lot to me like what the taliban wants in Afghanistan. Which religious laws do you want to follow - catholic, mormon, seventh day, pentecostal, jehovah's witnesses, etc and so on? You tell me that "x will lead to God's wrath on America! Says so in the bible!" ---- well, eating shellfish, going to church on Sunday instead of Saturday, celebrating birthdays, etc and so on are all sins depending on which church you listen to. Which faith should we pick to make our laws to stop God from killing us all?

You prayed and prayed, and you got an answer from God this election - unless you think he didn't listen to you (wonder why?) or that he is not as smart as you somehow.

Why make us all enemies that you hate? I want a free and strong America with a good economy so that we can all prosper and worship as we choose. We don't always agree on how to get to that point, but painting folks like me as you have ensures you will never get my vote. Whine all you want about Obama not reaching across the aisle to give you something - but you are no better, especially during this last campaign.

You lost because people see these things. You will keep losing until you can connect with people and see the real issues.

But keep banging away at your keyboards hating on your fellow citizens and listening to fox news to tell you what to think. You missed the big picture and you will again.
