Funny, the onslaught of anti-foodstamps recipients/welfare FB memes has stopped

THANK GOD!

Anybody else keep getting those "LIKE THIS if you don't want your hard earned money going to a Cadillac for an addict who buys heroin with food stamps!!1!" fb graphics?

Funny though, after the election they all stopped, I guess some RW think tanks are closing up shop?

Whenever I saw one I would argue the premise of assuming anyone needing assistance especially in this economy was "a bum" who was "stealing" from us; ask if they know anyone who was temporarily saved from poverty by any government program, and ask Christians if Jesus would think it was a good use of their time to mock the poor.

That usually shut them down pretty fast....

most of the states with the highest percentage to population on government assistance are RED as can be
places like texas , tennessee, and georgia have pretty large amounts of people receiving some form of it

i am shocked that you would. Horrified and greatly amused. You are a terrible person, and I'm still laughing.

Most of my clients are poor and in dire straights. Of those, the whiniest, most entitled ones are the right-wingers. They are angry that they aren't getting enough food stamps, and that it takes so long to get disability, and that the state isn't paying for their health care. The line the RWers always seem to whine out at some point is, "But my lifestyle is being affected!!!" Meanwhile, most of the lefties are getting their lives figured out. They are getting help from friends, making do, swapping with others, etc., and yes, with far less complaining about how government has failed them by not giving them enough stuff.

I suspect the only people on my friends list that might post stuff like that (Who are all family: I have no right wing friends.) have learned to block me from receiving it.

Nothing bursts their self-righteous balloon when ranting about how terrible people getting government money are than to be reminded of times they got government money. (Hurricane relief, farm subsidies, etc.)
