General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsYou people are seriously eff'd up!!
AND I LIKE IT. I like it a lot!
You really aren't eff'd up...but a rediculous number of people think we are.
So glad I found you after all this time. And here I thought I was in a world of strange other-worldly beings!! And then, I found you.
Shhhhh. Don't tell my co-workers that I might be a subversive. I try to avoid political discussions at work....at all costs!!!!
Glad to be here. Thanks for welcoming me. I look forward to being part of your forum.

(4,359 posts)Are you from the Dakota that sent us a nice blue senator? :0)
Not me.
But I am a TX girl, living in VA for over 25 yrs, who actually grew up with a brain.

(246 posts)I coined the screen name from the fact I once drove a Dodge Dakota 4X4. A wonderful ride it was.

(246 posts)I've been lurking on this site for years.
I was always intimidated and a tad shy.
Decided it was time to join up with you all.

(5,231 posts)If it's any consolation, I've been here since 2001 or so and only have 4,000 some posts...so I'm a little shy too, but I wouldn't trade DU for any other site!

(47,992 posts)(before DU 3.0's advent of the Meta forum) ... what used to be called a meta-thread, somewhere, sometime around here, before you decide just how eff'd up we are.
. . . Welcome, Sophiegirl!
We all have our issues. I deal with mine, you deal with yours.
We can all get along.

(27,985 posts)With their attendant concern trolls and people taking it seriously and the wit, oh, the wit. Yeah, we should do one of them soon. We really are f'd up and a metathread shows that we know it. Lol.

(47,992 posts)Being somewhat humor deficient myself, I LOVE seeing DU-er cleverness.
There are some AMAZING folks here.
Meta-threads are fun and they lift everyone's mood!

(5,231 posts)I'm eff'd up in the best, most honest and sincere way...bottom line, I'm passionate and sincere in my convictions and apologize to no one for it.
I sense you'll like it here!

(2,338 posts)Now, excuse me. I'm going on 48 hrs of no sleep and need to get some sleep. Hubbie isn't particularly fond of the fact that I turn all OCD regarding election outcomes. Not that he doesn't care. I'm just a tad (ok..more so) than he is. I think he gets afraid of me on election night and retreats to higher ground.
Glad to be here.
My hubbie knows that Election Day is my Super Bowl...he has resigned himself to it. He just tunes out until I call it.
Glad you're here too!

(27,985 posts)passionate about politics as I am. He sat at DU and 538 and texted me every time we won, nationally or locally. Because of DU and my political wonk guy, I knew it all right off, as it happened.
Oh, and to give Santorum his due, he said if we approve marriage equality, before you know it, polygamous folks will want marriage equality. Well, since I'm not a Mormon and my multipartner family isn't religion based, we call it polyamory and yes, we will be the next through that door, Ricky boy. First and last time you will ever be right, you filthy excrement.
I'm in Washington state which simultaneously said yes to marriage equality and flipped off the federal government by legalizing marijuana. It was a very, very good night here.

(333 posts)Billo the Clown likes to call us "The Loony Left". I guess anybody who's even slightly to the left of Genghis Khan is automatically a flaming liberal, huh?

(27,985 posts)Loony - perhaps, Left - Absolutely!

(4,309 posts)I know I'm seriously eff'd up!! Divorced, feminist, very liberal and posting after midnight. I'm still hiiiiggghhh on the election results. I would guess you're a little bit happy now as well. You sound like a real subversive - good for you! Peace!

(2,338 posts)I used to start my day logging on to Google News.
No longer. This is the place I now go to for the micro-latest (I know that I'm making up a new word) news. No better place to get it.
