Began as an FDR Democrat and ended his career supporting the end of apartheid in South Africa. There were a few things in between.

He did and evidently meant it at the time. Lets face it, the South had plenty of FDR democrats. But they were still full on racists.
Mr. Wallace did change his views later in life. We can all live and learn.
