Let's just buy a bunch of flag pins

Although I have no plans to build a KEEP OFF MY GRASS sign, my patience with “our friends across the aisle” is thinner than half the thickness of Saran Wrap. After decades of non-violence, I think I want to hit a 12-piece set of stemware with a splitting maul. Truthfully I don’t have 12 pieces of stemware and maybe not even 12 more days of patience.

I’m thankful that I don’t have television because I’d be throwing things at it. Even limited “news” time with my iPad makes my head feel like it’s in a workbench vise. I keep shaking my head in disbelief and struggle to find words to describe what I’m seeing. I don’t even believe what I’m seeing. Is it the doings of a Mass Media Trickster or are we really in this kind of trouble?

They wear flag pins, wave the Bible, have a flag in most every video or camera shot, preach about patriotism. Really? That’s kind of nervy. Actually, it’s bullshit. Dangerous, fake bullshit.

The Cruelty Party. The Whites Only party….unless they need a Prop of Color. They don’t believe in helping hands unless it’s a favor for a campaign contribution. They don’t care if schools fail or libraries close. They outwardly and openly discriminate and preach intolerance.

Look at the damage they have done. How did this happen? Who let it happen? How can we end it?

I’ve spent a lifetime finding joy and contentment in simple, everyday things. That hasn’t changed. What has changed for me is the degree of difficulty in focusing on what is good and right when I see such dangerous, hateful people get millions and millions of votes. It’s troubling and, in my opinion, requires a rock-solid, tough-as-nails response. We really have to gather millions more voices and sound one unmistakable alarm.

We have to shape our messages in the likeness of poison darts and fire them off with precision. No wishy-washy anything. No long, consultant-generated, yawn-inducing foolishness. Just short, memorable, plain-spoken truths.

I didn’t mean for this to be a Rant-A-Thon. I’m just really concerned and know DU is a wonderful place for inspiration.

Love to all~

Because Joe Biden is a patriot, a very pissed-off patriot. And he's much, much smarter than he gets credit for. The comeuppance is coming, and soon. Take heart, half the people in the world suck, but the other half are awesome.

Too many progressives (here included) have decided that, for any number of reasons, they shouldn't be happy to be American Citizens. When WE reject patriotism, we let Republicans and conservatives capture it, and appeal to middle of the road voters on that basis. Whatever you think about the status of racism, sexism, income inequality, religious oppression, etc. telling voters that they SHOULDN'T be proud to be Americans is a great way to push them away from voting for you.

That is meant to be applied to false patriotism, which runs riot in 'Murica.

The right wing echo chamber shitheads will find someway to denounce it. The right wing propaganda machine has become too damn powerful. It needs to be taken down several pegs.

He seems to have no problem getting his point over, sometimes it's several points per day.

Pennsylvania's new Senator John Fetterman put together a dynamite messaging team for his campaign. Are those people available to work for other Dems or for the Democratic Party?

Snappy, succinct, slightly barbed, but humorous. Those are the messages that seem to get across the best.

What ultimately caused most Dems to vote in 2022 according to exit polls was worry about our democracy.

Are the Rs banning books?
It's anti-democracy/pro-autocracy

Denying the LGBTQi community the basic rights guaranteed to all citizens under our Constitution?
That's working against democracy and is for rule of the few.

Intimidating Jewish people, blacks, Latinos, Asians, trans folks – that's against the promise of our democracy and our country's motto: E pluribus unum. Tie it to what the Nazis did.

Banning abortions?
Dictatorial, elevates one version of Christianity above all other religions, deprives women of safety in pregnancy – anti-Constitutional by depriving her of her right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Everything comes back to their war on democracy, their desire to control what we learn, who we love, what we do and say.
