but I would have been okay with Nancy indicating that Schiff has her support even if Feinstein decides to run again. Feinstein ought to be done!

But, again, no sense in Nancy rocking boats and all that. Hopefully behind the scenes she and others are encouraging Feinstein to move on.

7. I can't imagine this comes as any kind of a surprise to Katie Porter

Porter supported Nina Turner against Shontel Brown for the Democratic nomination for the 11th district of Ohio. Shontel Brown has been a reliable Democratic vote in the House, as well as a loyal supporter of Pelosi as speaker. Nina Turner made it clear from the beginning that if she won the seat, she would not fit into that role. If there's one thing that Pelosi does not do, it's forget.

I was never able to figure it.

As for Yale and Harvard grads, they aren‘t all Clintons or Obamas. My daughter, a partner of a New York law firm, has to deal with interns sent over by the New York headquarters. Many of them are grads of Harvard and Yale law. She some are OK, but some have lousy English writing skills, worse German, and are the first out the door at 4:59 PM. They think Germany was a party assignment. Sometimes they leave her office in tears when she calls them to explain that they need a new attitude or the first plane home. « But I have a law degree from Harvard! » they exclaim, as though that makes them instantly a superior form of human.

“nexus between strong democracy and a strong economy” is a reference to problems inherent to anti-business ideology. We need a functional synergy between strong regulatory control and strong, healthy business, not war.

And, of course, we need elimination of the ultrawealthy classes whose existence is incompatible with democracy. But our electorate can accomplish that on their lunch breaks without war. We’ve done it before.

Barbara Lee, of course, is still a possible appointee should Feinstein vacate before the election.

because I thought "well, of course she supports him in the fight about his seat on the Intelligence Committee - it should go without saying that every Democrat does".

I would hate to lose her. Maybe she should consider withdrawing from the Senate race and focus on re-winning her House seat.

She'd kick some royal GOP ass if she gets elected. And I am supporting her. The country needs her.
