(13,556 posts)is a lot different that when the grid couldn't handle the demand during the big freeze.
This time the temps were only a bit below freezing and so the demand wasn't like then.

(13,556 posts)an bloody ICE STORM is comparing, as they say, apples and oranges.
Get mad about the infrastructure, not a storm bringing down power lines.

(62,530 posts)Hes the gov all problems begin and end with him.
He fucked up last time and he continues to fuck up by not repairing the grid and giving them a free pass because the owners of the various utilities are major repuke donors. Couple that with the railroad commissioner being in thick with these same right wing donors.
So damn straight I blame that mother fucker abbot.

(13,556 posts)What a naive thing to say that the gov is responsible for ALL PROBLEMS. If Beto had been elected we would have still had an ice storm. We would still have had trees fall over and power lines ice up and break. This has nothing to do with the state of the grid as a whole.
To be clear, the current Texas management is a bunch of grifters and incompetents but they (as yet) don't control the weather.
When progressives post things that aren't true it diminishes arguments we make about the real and awful things that the RW does.

(62,530 posts)So cut the crap. Im done and you arent currently living without electricity as I am at this very moment
Welcome to block and enjoy your buddy abbot

(13,556 posts)You ought to cut the crap. Why don't you have electricity? I'll bet it had nothing to do with a grid failure and had everything to do with the weather.

(4,098 posts)Its really a different situation. Ice storms always cause a lot of power outages. Its going to be how long it takes to get the power back on.
