Georgia still has some ways to go

It’s refreshing to know they rejected TFG, rejected Herschel Walker, but not only is Three Names still in Congress, there’s this.

You might know of PGT Beauregard in addition to Robert E. Lee.

I guess you know the saying, old habits die hard. Thankfully, Georgia’s gone purple and hopefully, the pushback continues.

so we’re barely even worthy of the “Purple” label — despite our two Democratic U.S. Senators, a few Democrats in the U.S. House, and some very Blue local areas (most notably the Black Mecca of Atlanta and the surrounding counties).

There’s been some progress on removing Confederate monuments, though the Generals in gray still mar the face of Stone Mountain. As long as the Republican Party can maintain its iron grip on the hinterlands and keep enough suburbanites frightened of inner city crime and gender issues in schools, we’ll have a tough time.

But Georgia Democrats are energized, smart, and hard working. We have to keep working and stay focused on the long view.
