Sadly we have to get back to work almost immediately since we face yet another tough Senate cycle

The 33 seats up for election in 2014 split 20 to 13 and include Democratic seats in Alaska, North Carolina, Arkansas, Louisiana, and West Virginia. We also have a very likely retirement in New Jersey in 90 year old Lautenberg. The GOP has only Maine in the hard to defend category. On the plus side we have unexpected cushion thanks to this cycle. We can lose 5 seats and still retain control.

But hey, we were supposed to get hurt this time around and it didn't happen. Who knows what to expect in two years?

Frankin is in pretty good shape which makes a good degree of sense. He was a comedian in 08 and people didn't take him seriously now he has proven himself a very able Senator and his views are in tune with MN. Hagan is currently polling OK against some of her possible opponents but she now has the newly elected Lt Gov to contend with as a possible opponent. She has to be considered very endangered. As for Begich he is an accidental Senator and since the Stevens' case imploded I can't see him winning unless the party goes nuts up there again.

Obama won it quite convincingly, the Dems took over the legislature, and pot won. I think Udall should be safe.
