3. imo, this would never be front page news if Trump hadn't obstructed NA and the FBI

...what we're left with are these equalizing reports conflating Trump's obstruction with pretty innocuous retention of files by Biden and whatever Pence has done with the ones retained in his storage.

For now, we're left with this muddling which should take a much different tone when any legal jeopardy falls on just Trump.

6. considering the Biden lawyers initiated the return of docs, not NA, like Trump

...I'd say it's not just about giving cover.

News reports sure make it seem like the media wants to cover Trump with the Bidens, though, while giving Pence's even shorter shrift.

Something is fishy about the whole thing.
I don't trust the FBI.

...everything I've read says that the searches are consensual, initiated by the Biden lawyers.

11. read the timeline reports
Thu Feb 2, 2023, 03:21 PM
Feb 2023

....you've jumped past several points.

timeline excerpts:

Initially, White House confirmed in early January that roughly 10 documents dating back to the Obama administration were discovered by Mr. Biden's personal lawyers at the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement on Nov. 2, and then disclosed that a "small number" were found in the garage at the president's home in Wilmington after his lawyers searched the locations where files from his vice-presidential office may have been shipped following his tenure in the Obama White House.

Dec. 20: Mr. Biden's personal lawyers tell Lausch that more documents with classification markings were found in the garage at the president's Wilmington home. The documents were among other records from Mr. Biden's tenure as vice president. (Garland announcement, Jan. 12)

The FBI goes to the residence and secures the documents. (Garland announcement, Jan. 12)

Jan. 9: CBS News first reports that roughly 10 documents with classified markings were found at Mr. Biden's vice-presidential office at the Penn Biden Center.

"The documents were not the subject of any previous request or inquiry by the Archives. Since that discovery, the president's personal attorneys have cooperated with the Archives and the Department of Justice in a process to ensure that any Obama-Biden Administration records are appropriately in the possession of the Archives." (Sauber statement, Jan. 9)

...nothing in that timeline about FBI coercion or demands.

12. So Biden's own lawyers were looking for lost documents?

Just out of the blue, they had nothing else to do?

I don't trust the FBI or people around Biden.
He already says he doesn't trust the SS who are guarding him.
I don't trust them either.

13. their explanation is they happened upon them while engaged in some routine duties

...it wasn't in response to any demand or request.

Richard Sauber, the special counsel looking into Biden’s files, suggested Monday that the matter was different, saying the documents the president’s lawyers found “were not the subject of any previous request or inquiry by the archives.”

“Since that discovery, the president’s personal attorneys have cooperated with the archives and the Department of Justice in a process to ensure that any Obama-Biden administration documents are appropriately in the possession of the archives,” Sauber said in a statement.

15. makes perfect sense
Thu Feb 2, 2023, 04:27 PM
Feb 2023

...Trump clearly obstructed the return of sensitive and classified docs, defying both subpoena and FBI and NA demands.

Pres. Biden did not obstruct the return of docs found mistakenly retained in a locked storage room of his by aides.

Trump is facing legal jeopardy for his actions.

President Biden isn't expected to face any legal consequences for the retention of docs in his personal and office storage, because nothing he did, and nothing associated with the document retention is considered prosecutable.

Describing this piffle as anything else is a deliberate and misleading muddle with Trump's obvious criminal behavior.

Not sorry.

about the warrant search of his own property. The whole thing probably would have gone unnoticed had he not thrown a public tantrum. We only knew about the Merde a Lardo warrant search because he HE exposed it.

5. still not sure about Pence
Thu Feb 2, 2023, 03:06 PM

...I personally think it's suspicious that Pence identified the four boxes as potentially containing files and called a 'friend' lawyer who lives 'nearby' to search them.

I don't see any reason to give anyone in that criminal enterprise Pence was part of any benefit of the doubt.
