"SNIP.......

More than 30 House Democrats have signed onto a new resolution “recognizing Israel as America’s legitimate and democratic ally and condemning antisemitism,” NBC News reports.

“The most notable among them: Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), a Muslim American who has been a fierce critic of Israel and the Jewish lobby and ousted by Republicans on Thursday from the Foreign Affairs Committee for what members of both parties said were antisemitic remarks.”

from the foreign affairs committee. But, 30 out of 212 Democrats? (So far?)

Will others join or are there problems with this bill? I haven't been paying attention. Gottheimer does apparently oppose the Biden administration's attempt to bring the 2015 Iran Nuclear Deal back to life, and/or...? Is it mainly a statement gesture?

Gottheimer has called the BDS movement antisemitic, but versions of it have a wide range of supporters, from liberal Israeli Jews to antisemites who call for everything from military invasion to finishing Hitler's "final solution."

Seems to me that with this Omar separates from anti-Israel extremists into a far more decent, pro-humanity camp. ?

Of course, the BDS movement has essentially failed, unless we have a RW fascist takeover, dragged down by the large numbers of antisemitic and extremist groups, and hostile states, who turned it prospectively into a call for giant crimes against humanity.

Btw, this is Omar's BDS partner, Rep. Tlaib, in a tshirt that erases the Jewish state from the map. A couple years ago they were among a few who lost to the 398 house members who signed a bill affirming Israel's right to exist then, including opposing state laws that made it illegal to do business with Israel.

against the State of Israel, which as I indicated came in its various forms to involve a wide range from decent Israeli Jews to antisemitic hypocrites to...antisemitic monsters. Advocating everything from humane sanctions to apply economic pressure for change to terrorism to military invasion.

I couldn't ignore her various behaviors regarding Jews and Israel and who she was associating herself with and enabling. We'll see. My husband's Jewish. While I don't believe in personality transplants, I do believe in wising up and behavior modification.

I do know that Ilhan Omar agrees with a two state solution and Rep. Tlaib does not.

Some people don't do nuance at all. Oppose their opinion on Israel - antisemitism - no middle ground or even a discussion.
