I realize Manchin is pretty far right for a Democrat, and fossil-fuel friendly, but he's got to know this "THAR COMIN' AFTER YOUR GAS STOVE!!1!!!" bullshit is just right-wing red meat.
And pairing up with Ted Cruz on anything?
What's his game here? Scared about a Republican challenger for his next election?

(15,233 posts)Acting like that's what's going on is a bullshit scare tactic Republicans (and apparently Manchin too) are peddling.

(15,233 posts)...that's purposefully trying to convince you Democrats are out to confiscate your gas stove away.
And to cuddle up to Ted Cruz as a part of this game? That's really necessary to save his seat?

(15,233 posts)If Manchin next joins up with Josh Hawley for a "White Lives Matter" bill, is that okay too, because, well, "all lives matter", and the bill won't really have any harmful legislative effect?

(94,598 posts)A federal agency says a ban on gas stoves is on the table amid rising concern about harmful indoor air pollutants emitted by the appliances.
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission plans to take action to address the pollution, which can cause health and respiratory problems.
This is a hidden hazard, Richard Trumka Jr., an agency commissioner, said in an interview. Any option is on the table. Products that cant be made safe can be banned.

Let it go. Gas stove regulation is not going anywhere in this administration.

(15,233 posts)...joining in with Republicans to build the false myth that (other) Democrats were indeed coming after your gas stoves, and heroes like Ted Cruz were needed to come save the day.
