Toronto Star: Win for Barack Obama is existential crisis for American right wing

WASHINGTON—It was a day for setting tones for Barack Obama 2.0.

The tone from the White House was sober second thought, as the giddy afterglow of electoral triumph gave way to gazing at the fiscal cliff.

The tone from the Republican-controlled House of Representatives was dulcet, for a change: We’re still here but this time we’ll play nice if you do, was House Speaker John Boehner’s carefully scripted line.

2006, 2008 and 2010. It's clear from 2006 and 2008 that when Democrats vote they can win big. In 2010 we learned that Democrats lose big when they don't vote for some reason. The lesson isn't first for 2016 but for 2014 when Democrats have to vote big again and take back the congress. We can't take time off we have to get going on 2014 now.

it's back to work.

#1. priority is make sure President Obama understands that we have expectations and we have his back.

#2. priority is preparing for 2014.

Let's give him the majority congress he needs to really move us forward!
