Dear GOP - quit with the gut renching and soul searching. Let me spell it out for you.

Here's why America fired you.

1. We all know Ronnie ran up the credit card bills.
2. We all know Whistleass ran up even more AND tried to hide the credit card bills.
3. We all know you guys deliberately shoveled what should have our raises to the guys at the top instead.
4. We all know you guys deliberately trashed what should have been safe investments so the guys at the top could benefit.

Because of this we've decide you idiots cannot be trusted with our money. THAT got you fired.

What got you the extra kick in ass on the way out the door?

1. Just kill off Fox News already. With the exception of Shepard Smith, who is marginal, the rest of that bunch is like a cross between "Jackass" and "TMZ". Rush and all the little Rushs just perpetuate the Republicans are nutjobs too.

2. Get the freaks out of leadership roles. Palin? Todd Akin? Eric Cantor? Mean Jean Schmidt? You got Mitch in public asking for the president to fail. WHY did you let these people hijack the party? FIX IT !!

Look at least get the embarrassments out of your party so you guys at least APPEAR to be sane whenever on camera. As long you keep putting the crazies out there we aren't going to take you seriously or listen to anything you say. After that you are going to have to stop catering to the 1 percenters. Period. You can't win by fucking over 99 percent of your constituents.

We, the citizens, DESERVE an intelligent debate on the options for solving our problems...REAL OPTIONS...not serious options offered by one side (usually ours) and comic book caricatures on the other...as long as Republicans keep running wack-jobs with un-serious solutions to our problems (cliches and jingoisms) we are being DEPRIVED of a serious debate and a true CHOICE between parties.

9. One problem is that the right has abandoned conservative values

Once upon a time, conservatives stood for a set of core principles. They believed in community, stability, and the wisdom embedded in traditional values and institutions. When mid-20th century liberals got all fired up about some untried scheme for improving society, conservatives were there to serve as a useful counterbalance.

But a couple of things went wrong with that model. Perhaps the biggest was race. In the 1950s, it became apparent that defending segregation on grounds of community and tradition was a serious moral lapse. I think the right lost its way at that point and has never recovered.

Another was multiculturalism. We are no longer a nation that can pretend to have a common culture to which everyone subscribes. We have many peoples and many cultures, and the real challenge is how to make that work smoothly. But it leaves conservatives seeing the desire of Hispanics, say, or gay people to maintain their own communities and their own traditions as a threat to old-line "American" culture. They still like to talk about community, but what they really mean by it is a fading image of old-timey small-town America. And that is not a viable basis for policy.

And a third was that during the 1960s, it became generally perceived that conservatives were kind of dull and stodgy, while progressives were hot and sexy and had more fun. And at that point, a lot of the young movement conservatives set out to prove that they could be just as radical as anyone -- which is the line of thought that winds you up with Paul Ryan at best or fascism at worst.

The result is that to a surprising extent the roles have been flipped. Progressives now defend community and mutuality, while conservatives are prepared to go running off after the latest untried social engineering scheme. And who needs that?

As long as clowns like this roam around as heroes to the conservative media echo chamber there won't be ANY inroads to the demographics that caused Tuesday's rout.

but I actually did it. When I read "the rest of that bunch is like a cross between "Jackass" and "TMZ", I spewed my breakfast all over my keyboard. I just got done picking between the keys with a toothpick. Thanks a lot.

Didn't your mothers teach you how to show respect! Here's how:

* Stop pandering to your very wrong characterature of blacks, Hispanics, women, youth, Asians, the poor, muslims. We are not children! We do not fit your pictures.

* Get the hell out of our bedrooms and stop trying to control our private, reproductive choices.

* Try using friendly persuasion for a change, rather than lies and fear mongering. We're open to new ideas and possibilities. But when your policy ideas, such as trickle down econ, fail over and over and over and are shown to be complete BS, get off it.

* Practice some tolerance. Stop making everyone wrong who doesn't belong to your church, have your sex orientation, think like you. Ya know, basic love thy neighbor.

* Admit your mistakes. I have yet to hear you apologize for 2 unfunded wars, unfunded drug benefit, and Wall St crash, Katrina debacle. You're supposed to learn from your mistakes, not make them over and over again.

* Start listening to what we say. Ya know, we progressives, women, AA, Latinos, etc talk to one another. When you treat us with disrespect, we do not speak well of you. And when you acquire a bad reputation, we don't vote for you.
