Money can't buy you politics if the People pay attention.
In North Dakota, outside money will lose you your job in politics!

Not to mention, Heidi was in the equation. While the state voted Mitt Romney 58 percent to 39 percent Barack Obama, they elected a Democrat and a woman to the Senate.

That included the amount he spent in the primaries (which was mostly an air campaign...he wasn't on the ground much). He overpaid for commercial time cause his campaign waited til the last minute when the rates were jacked up and spent little on the ground game that won the state for President Obama.

Add in the Rove/GPS money and I'd bet we're looking at over $100 a vote in some districts...

THIS time around the repubs had a lying, flip-flopping weasel as a candidate, and I firmly believe that had it not been for unlimited expenditures brought about by the Citizens United ruling the race wouldn't have been nearly as close as it was nationwide. Rmoney shouldn't have been within a couple percentage points of the President nationally, if the repubs come up with a decent candidate next time Big Money could very well sway the election.
