LIMBAUGH defense against inclusion of minorities: Leopard, meet spots.
The election next-day, LIMBOsevic was refuting what media yakkers were saying was The Lesson for the Rethug party, that the Rethugs need to abandon the Old White Male direction and reach out to Hispanics especially. He said that there are far more elected Hispanics and women in the Rethugs than in Dems, that the Rethugs don’t get points for this, that their minority members are attacked as tokens, that Condo RICE was “treated like an animal.”
Here’s the answer: The minority members who are Rethugs are, the new buzzword, “aspirational.” What does this aspiration consist of --- a self-hating desire to abandon their home culture and be White or servant to Whites (besides the material greed).
Think about it: One local minority wingnut calls the country of his birth “that disgraceful country.” Linda CHAVEZ is married to a Jew but conveniently uses her Spanish surname for career purposes. Ruben NAVARRETTE says he hates White Liberal Males who stigmatized him with Affirmative Action but he sure lusts after White Wingnut Males (who do what with him?). SCHARTZENNEGER openly brags that raw ambition in material and social terms is what his Rethug "Americanism" is all about.
The few puny Rethug voices who have made tentative efforts to recruit minorities have acknowledged the need to expand or die out. Danny DEUTSCH told Morning SCABS that doing it as window dressing by nominating a RUBIO won’t cut it, that it has to be real, from conviction.
But the surface problem is that Rethugs who fraternize with minorities obviously do so on the grounds that window dressing is what they really mean, that the Old White Males will still and forever wield the REAL power, the COLONIALISM model. And the deep problem is that Rethugism is an Old White Male ideology: Leopard, spots.
